"Treat yourself as you would a good friend." -Kristin Neff

For most of us, buying a nice tea, a decadent cream, or being there for a friend or family member who needs a little tender loving care is an easy decision. So why do we struggle so much with buying something nice for ourselves or making time for our own self-care? We all know you cannot pour from an empty cup. So this year let's all be okay with accepting we are not only deserving but also completely dependent on taking time for self-care to be at our best.

Each and every one of us is a beautifully unique individual and our self-care routines should be designed to best fit our needs. Good nutrition, sleep, activity and getting lots of fresh air are solid foundations to feeling good. But don’t forget to try other techniques such as meditation, reflection, massage, reading, relaxation or whatever else makes your body feel pampered, refreshed, and rejuvenated.

Here at Back to Earth we are devoted to providing affordable products that you can use everyday to help nourish your body and soul and keep you in a wellness state of mind.

Aromatherapy offers many options to support mind & body wellness. TheBalance Synergy Oil Blend is a handy bottle you can pop in your purse to use throughout the day. A blend of 100% pure essential oils of lavender, ylang ylang, geranium, sandalwood, and blue tansy, bring a natural sense of stability to your system. Put a couple drops in your hands, cup them over your face and deeply inhale for a little restart. You can also drop in a diffuser, add to your bath or rub into the soles of your feet and pop on some socks for a calming effect. TheStress Release Body & Aroma Spray is a scent everyone will appreciate around you. Keep a bottle in your car, near your desk, and somewhere in your home so your whole family can spray it when they need a little emotional uplift, or a sense of calming.

Staying hydrated is another way to keep your mind & body balanced and feeling good. Herbal tea blends are perfect to sip on chilly February days. OurPeace & Calming Tea is a wildcrafted blend of ethically harvested rosehips, hibiscus, juniper berries, star anise, cloves, orange peel, coriander, valerian root, chamomile, lavender and rose petal. It has a really nice flavor and provides a natural calming mental influence. Scoop in a dollop of local, unpasterized honey for an extra dose of goodness.

Give yourself permission to sit down with a tea and enjoy a good book to recharge when things get hectic, you deserve it. Sarah Ban Breathnach has written a few books that are broken into divine tidbits you can read each day in an easy way. If you haven't discovered the Simple Abundance book or Something More they are very awakening.Romancing the Ordinary: A Year of Simple Splendoris a mental treat in the way it is written and how it brings us back to being present.

Nothing feels better than slipping into a hot bath after a stressful winter day. While you’re soaking in the tub, listen to music, a guided meditation or read a 'feel good' book to leave the worries and stress of the day behind. You can also treat yourself to a dose ofSerenity Wildcrafted Tub Tea.  A powerful blend of mineral rich ocean salts, pink Himalayan salts and ethically wild crafted Okanagan herbs that will replenish needed nutrients. The cotton pouch steeps in the bathwater like a tea bag and the goodness inside soaks into your skin. Raspberry leaf, rosehip, hibiscus petals, calendula petals, rose, lavender, yarrow, red clover, sweet orange peel, chamomile, oatmeal, ocean salts, Himalayan salt and pure lavender oil will soothe your tired body right to the bone and help you fall asleep peacefully.

Self-Care isn’t a one-time action; it’s the necessary pursuit of taking care of oneself to ensure you’re at your optimum—emotionally, physically, and mentally. The best way to do this is to implement tiny self-care habits every day. So BE KIND TO YOURSELF and take the time to include in your life a little bit of love and attention for your own body, mind, and soul.

It is our continued passion to research and create natural wholesome recipes that will nurture every aspect of your body so you can live your best life, however that looks for you. January brought us two full moons; with new opportunities to embrace change and find overall well being as we flow into the rest of 2018. Let's make February a month of kindness, love and being present in our days.

- With Love
